Orissa’s Sunyasakta Satpathy finished seventh with six points from nine rounds in the under-11 girls’ category of the 5th World School Chess Championship, which concluded at Thessaloniki in Greece today.
The championship featured a total of eight categories (open under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and girls’ under 9, 11, 13, 15).
For Sunyasakta, playing the World School Meet was a gain in exposure and experience but a loss in ranking. She started as ranked fifth but finished seventh. She won six games and lost the remaining three.
